But talking of things past their sell-by date, there's still something missing from this thread!

I don't know who's worse. Me for for thinking of that picture as soon as I read the OP.....

or you for actually keeping a copy of it on your hard drive.

I was puzzling about salt today...as one does. On getting home, I rushed to the kitchen cupboard and got out the Tesco (hiss) container . There was no mention of a use-by date.....except a cryptic 0224 around the neck of the container. A Saturday surely? The stuff had probably been OK under Cheshire for the last twenty thousand years, but we really mustn't take a risk.

Edit: I think that the salt musings may have been not entirely unconnected with a certain disturbing image posted above. Some kind of displacement activity that all animals in distress and confusion exhibit...

Salt used to be an indicator of wealth, Martin. (salarium, sal dare, salary etc...) and that photo means that one is 'rich beyond your wildest dreams'.
I just went to look on a box of Maldon - there is no expiry date, so sea salt means you're not 'tide' to time.
On the subject of sea - here are some :hello::hello::hello::hello::hello:

Right. I've been trying some of these suggestions to brighten up the office. Unfortunately it pixellates when blown up to A0 size. I'll have to ask Mrs Rich P for a high-resolution version.
