Consumer Rights - help please

I bought some software about a year ago, didn't like it as it was new and had too many teething probs so I un-installed it.

Now there are new updates which have sorted out the earlier probs.

I stupidly have lost my serial number and activation codes.

Therefore I can't install it.

Customer services don't want to know, I've tried to Private Message the moderators on it's forum and also emailing the bosses but without a serial number they will not reply.

I don't have the reciept either, just the original box, controller and disks.

Am I stuffed?

The software is for DJing/mixing - Intimidation Touch DVS

I would say yes.

If you cannot prove the purchase - receipt, date, card details, address, etc. for them to find the transaction in their records - I'd say you're going to have to buy again.

Have they suggested what they would need to be satisfied of your original purchase?

Have you actually tried re-installing it? Sometimes software will leave an entry in the Registry that contains the activation data even after you've uninstalled it. It may be worth a try. Otherwise, I think you're stuffed.

If you use any audio / DJ-ing forums where this software is common, it might be worth posting there - quite possibly you are not the only person to whom this has happened, and there might be help out there from other users.
