We’ve had a Miele for the last 15 years, it’s very good but a big hassle to cart around.

We bought a Dyson V7 cordless recently and it has been a revelation, so quick and easy, the charging station with tool holders is really neat and it’s all so easy and quick to use. We now hoover the house in less than half the time of using the corded hoover.

The big thing I was not expecting is the sheer amount of dirt that the Dyson cordless has picked out of the carpets that the Miele has missed over the years. We haven’t got the Miele out since getting the Dyson cordless, I am completely sold on it.

+1 for the gtech air ram. Its great for everyday use, and light. Only down side is no attachments. Although we also have a corded that comes out every now and then to do the skirtings and the like.

We have one of the Dyson ones. I was dead against getting it. I said the battery would not last long enough. I said it wouldn't be powerful enough. I said it was too expensive. I said we had to keep the 'proper' cleaner for doing big jobs.

I was wrong on all counts. It probably hasn't got the suction of the plug in one, but it's got enough - and because it's so easy to get it out the dock and hoover, we do it more - you can do the dining room in the time it takes the kettle to boil because you haven't got to wrestle it out of the cupboard and sort the wire out and then put it all back - so even if it does pick up slightly less (and I don't think it does) the house is cleaner beacuse it's so easy to use. It's a revelation on the stairs - and it makes doing the car easier too.

The only slight flaw is the catch to keep the lid closed on the dust collector - it can come undone if you don't make sure you've clicked it home properly, which obviously has the inevitable consequence of you blithely scattering dust behind you as you hoover.

We bought a Vax Blade 32V, I was sceptical as to its ability to clean all of the house (4 bedrooms) in one charge, but it does. very impressive performance, at least up to our heavy dyson corded upright.
Quite how long the battery will last I don't know.

I had a dyson cordless for a few years and was quite happy with it - apart from the long hair tangling up and needing to be detangled every week!!!
But then it's performance suddenly dropped, it wouldn't charge properly and it wasn't picking up anything bigger than a dust particle.
I bought a shark lift away and it is amazing!!! It is heavier, and it isn't cordless, but it cost less than a dyson and it works a dream. The lift away action means youcan manage the stairs without getting in a tangle and it has lights on the front so you can see under the bed!

We'll be getting the Gtech twin pack when funds allow, upright for house and hand held for caravan duties.

Never heard any bad words agains them!.

Plus after 2000 miles on his bike through all wether with minimal maintenance I'm a convert!.
