Stay near St Ives first week, then Bodmin for the second - great cycling, central so both coasts within easy reach, and quiet. Google Tregullon.
BODMIN???? :eek::eek::eek:

the lizard is great, many beautiful coves and villages and close to Falmouth which is a great town, the most diverse in Cornwall which makes it interesting and lively.
I live in Fowey which is beautiful and there are many great walks around us.
On the north I would second the suggestion of Crantock, equally St Agnes or a village called Rose outside Perranporth as it is very easy to access the wonderful beach Holywell from there.
Regards;

Well jel, would love to live there!

FWIW for a few years we used to stay at Seaview campsite at Gorran Haven outside Mevagissey (south of St Austell), lovely area and great campsite for the kids though very busy in summer. In recent years we have been staying at Carnon Downs which is handy for Truro, Falmouth, the Lizard and most places on the south coast - north coast is easily accessible too, and it's handy for the Camel trail mentioned earlier.

We stayed there some 35 years ago. 3 weeks. Brilliant weather.........we were nearly black (in the days before we found out it was bad to sunbathe:rolleyes:)
We still enjoy looking at the photos.

BODMIN???? :eek::eek::eek:
I'm sure he meant 'Bodmin area' , 5 miles north or south have great places.

how about two weeks in sunny Redruth for a holiday never to be forgotten, or skiing on the Cornish Alps at Luxillian ?

Pentewan Sands.
We stayed in a "bungalow" near the beach. I remember the site as being quite small -though I have googled it and it now looks massive.
We collected wood and had 'camp fires' on the beach at night. I fished off the headland at 06.00 a.m. (never caught anything).
The local beer was crap.........I was used to Greenalls & Tetley Walkers.
