£2.70 a pint down my local for craft ale,real ale or whatever you want to call it. If you buy a half it's £1.30. Some tight gits buy two halves instead of a pint,so i'm told.

Wow!!! How long was that over? Are you sure it was 15p a week and not 15p a day? If it was per week, after 40 years the return is approximately 30 times your investment (3000%), and the shorter the term, the return is even better.
It varies.
Around here you can get a pint of Greene King IPA, in Barrnstaple Wetherspoons, for £1.99. A pint of Doom Bar there is £2.95.
A pint of Doom Bar at the Manor, in Croyde, is over £4.00 - mainly due to the influx of surfers from London who think that's cheap.
40 years we have a couple more like that, good old LV.

Can't remember to be honest. I do well remember though being charged £3.50 for a pint in a london pub 20 years ago.Well i was pubbing at 14..38p for a pint of Mans bitter..1979..80 ish

Trumans - drank a lot of it as a student - terrible bland stuff as i recall - amazed that some supposedly trendy east london outfit revived the brand. And their versions aren't dramatically better.
Spoons in Deal is less than £2: was amazed as it's in the south. Best to sit outside though - an echo box inside. Spoons colne £1.89 as i recall and often excellent strong beers.

Ah yes, i well remember doing a double take in a manchester pub when buying a round in one of their placesBoddington's was 71p in the vault, and 73p in the lounge.
Then a Joseph Holt's pub opened about 200 yards from our house, a month before my 18th birthday, I was the first one to be served in there at 51p a pint, happy days.

My first pint in a pub was in 1997, I used to drink John Smith's and I think it was £1.50 a pint. Stella was around £2.20 and was seen as an extravagance.

It's priced to keep the riff-raff out.Bowland brewery in the neighbouring "affluent" borough of Ribble Valley has a pub/bar on its premises. You'd think it'd be cheaper a pint as there are no transportation costs etc. No,it's a staggering 4 quid a pint!
