Crank arm removal

Tried removing my truvativ crank arms this evening, but this is proving absolutely impossible! It's as if they are welded in. They will not budge at all. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with truvati. Do they go onto a square taper shaft? What tools are you using?

Truvativ use a one key release crank, which literally means it should release easily through loosening the 8mm crank bolt
