Thanks. Yes, It’s an old Fuji lens that was supplied as a cheap kit lens (1970’s I think). It has a peculiar lens arrangement that's renowned for rendering highlights as bubbles. It can go a bit crazy in bright light, but can give interesting backgrounds, although it could never be described as sharp.
Another night out chasing the Milky Way. I'd originally intended going to either South Devon or Pembrokeshire to make the most of clear skies but as the week went on the forecast was showing more cloud and one of the few gaps looked like being around the Gower so I took a trip to Three Cliffs Bay. It was a bit of a slog from the car (and worse going back up) through deep sand dunes but worth it for an empty beach. The Milky Way core was due to rise around 1am and remain visible until twighlight started at around 3.10am. I ended up shooting until around 2.30am when the cloud started to build. There was also lightning visible to the south which a check on a lightning app showed was out in the Bay of Biscay, it must have been quite a storm plus a couple of fly pasts by the ISS. Much more happy with my processing on this shoot. Foreground is a single 2 minute exposure at ISO 1600 and f4.0. The sky is 24 stacked 2 minute images shot using my star tracker at ISO 1600 and f2.8. I did do a panorama as well which came out OK but was before the core started to rise.
