Ha, I was looking for an upgrade to a Vista from the graveyard around the corner, but it was a bit too Blue screen of death in today’s weather.

I think that building might have got stuck on Windows ME and failled to upgrade.

Hey glad you like. I found an area of mushrooms growing amongst the leaf litter too, but couldn't really get a good angle with them being so low. I even sat the camera in a hollow but still to no avail.

I might pick up one of these LED panels which could be useful for some subtle lighting.

Ooh, that looks interesting... yeah, camera flash is normally terrible in most situations.

I've been learning the hard way that trying to take tripod-less panoramas isn't such a great idea ...

The tip for hand held is to include a fair bit more than you think you need in the vertical plane.
I dare say that is what you've just learned. 😉

No, it was more a case of holding the camera plumb level, and not trying to make a pano of a long building that I was really too close to.

Oh. I find modern software is pretty good at that sort of thing. As long as you are relatively close to being level.

Agreed.

While I don't take enough panos to justify something like PTGui, my rather elderly version of Photoshop did a reasonable job here, albeit after a bit of levelling and perspective correction on some of the 5 individual shots before they were stitched together. Just a couple of artefacts visible if you look closely.

Or I could just have walked around to the other side of the lake and used my zoom ...

Yeah, your main issue there is pointing upwards. Better to have zoomed out, or been further away, and been level.
Would have meant a whole lot of surplus foreground but that can be cropped out later.
