Yep, and quite a sterling rearguard effort as it turned out. Not often you can rely on your last drop hanging around for any length of time.

There's a man in Croydon who claims to have invented a game that in certain respects is a bit like cricket. What he doesn't know is that the England Cricket Team has been playing it for years.

Better than speaking Aussie!

Ponting should be upset. He managed to let England salvage a draw. His bowler selection was criticised before the game and he seems to have used them poorly during the game.

I like that Mr Pig! For many years now, I've been stunned at just how much of a let down the England team have been. Just when they seem to be out of the trough they hit another one.

It was a bit pathetic when the 'physio' lumbered up to the wicket and then struggled off immediately. That and a second replacement pair of gloves...
Sound performance by Collingwood cannot mask the lack of application in recognised batsmen - Australia applied themseles and played good, tough cricket.

quite agree but Collingwood's dismissal was pathetic in the circs-they lack the discipline to be able to build an innings for themselves a la Boycott.

And the bowlers looked positively third rate compared to the Aussies - they will need conditions in their favour if they are going to bowl Australia out for under 500.

Give Collingwood a break - he held his ground for almost six hours while team-mates tumbled before making a single error. I'd say that *was* 'a Boycott'.

As for the bowlers, it's hard to disagree, but think what a difference psychology can make. How different might things have been if the Aussies had lost a wicket to their very first ball of the series....and they very nearly did. We've all seen those given.
