That is pretty funny, I'd loved to have seen that! :0) It's weird though, like two different worlds.
On the one hand I think he was asking for it but at the same time it's a shame that it was allowed to fester to the level it did. Seems to me that the bigger and more bureaucratic the organisation the less tolerant people are. Just last week some teacher or other, guy with decades of good service and experience, was sacked because of one little remark, which quite frankly wasn't very bad. The PC brigade have a hair-trigger that fires them straight to thirty-thousand feet at the slightest touch.
By contrast I work in a small factory where banter and jibes are commonplace, daily, constant. Many of the comments made would be sacking offences in PC patroled organisations but not here. People take a joke, give as good as they get and get on with it. I don't think it does any harm, in fact I think it strengthens relationships. There is a level of trust required before you can really insult someone! ;0)
