I'd incline towards blinds, but depends on the style of the decor.

Neither. External shutters are the way to go.

Blinds for a more clinical, modern look but can be rather officey. Better for clean Ikea type decor with hard floor possibly.
Curtains for a softer more homely style with Berber type loop carpet.

Put privacy film on a couple of our bedrooms. Means you can see out, but people cant see in. In daylight hours. Nightime is curtains.

Quite easy. Use a solution of washing up liquid and a squeezy to get air bubbles out. It comes with instructions and there may have been a link to a utube video .
