Can anyone recommend a custom frame builder?

I have an off the shelf 65cm Canyon road bike and after a bike fit i realise it is a little too small.
so I am looking at getting something custom made.
Ive emailed Parlee to see what they come back with.

Anyone know someone decent?

Depends how deep your pockets are

A close enough frame can be adapted to fit with alt stem and seatpost. If you are going to spend on a custom frame, may as well test the fit first.
Roberts is probably your closest builder of repute. Are they still in business? There are other lesser known builders in Kent and S London.

Hi jifdave,

Sorry to hear that you've got a bike which doesn't fit. Just as a thought (although you might have already gone down this road) I don't know how much a bike fit could help and then swapping components such as stem etc. could get the bike more comfortable for you if it's not too far off.

However if you're going down the custom build route, which is a very nice path to follow, there are loads of frame builders out there and it's worth investigating a few of them to see what might work for you. Although as others have said it will depend on how deep you pockets are as to which ones are or arne't an option for you. I'll put a few names below but it also might be worth asking any people you know of any local frame builders to you to see if you get any recommendations.

Also depending on when you're thinking of getting the bike if it's not immediate it could be well worth going along to the Handmade Bicyle Show in Bristol called Bespoked:-

Some options in addition to the ones above (but there will be loads more out there to find):-
Lee Cooper Cycle Frames - http://leecoopercycles.webs.com/framesandforks.htm

Spoon Customs - http://www.spooncustoms.com

There are also some options out there from companies who offer off the shelf options but in addition will do things like bike fits and custom finishing kit related to the overal bike fit for you such as these for example:-

Condor Cycles (you get a bike fit included when you buy a Condor Bike) - https://www.condorcycles.com/pages/bike-fitting
Fairlight Cycles ( https://fairlightcycles.com/ ) do proportional geometry and different frames sizes and you can find out more here:-
https://fairlightcycles.com/?v=79cba1185463
https://fairlightcycles.com/why-fairlight/fit-function-form/?v=79cba1185463
On the Fairlight website once you've chosen a bike if you look at the geometry section you then get to a part which is to help find your fit and they do both regular and tall versions of their frames to take into account different body types.

Shand Cycles make both off the shelf and hand built custom options - https://www.shandcycles.com
Wold Cycles make both off the shelf and hand built custom options - http://www.woldcycles.co.uk
Donhou Bicycles do build options but also custom builds as well - http://www.donhoubicycles.com

If you want to look further afield to some options abroad:-
Faggin Bikes - http://www.fagginbikes.com
Breadwinner Cycles - https://breadwinnercycles.com
Northern Frameworks - http://www.northernframeworks.com
Belle Cycles - http://bellecycles.com

Good luck finding the right bike and fit for you.

A "little" too small. What's the problem? Can't it be sorted with a different stem?

How does it actually feel to ride? I wouldn't necessarily lose faith in it because of a "bike fitting" outfit's say so. It is not an exact science.
