How much of it do you want to remove?
What's in the corner that prevents you lifting it by the roots.
every visit to my parents house I pull down more of the vines on the vacant house next to them. there is a section of lattice, barely can call it a fence. don't know who installed it decades ago, them or my parents. I helped prop up one end when it failed & flopped over a cpl years ago.
all 4 sections should be ripped up & replaced with something decent. but going back to me picking at the vines I think there are multiple stalks so cutting what I see, on one side, may not be enough to "kill" it
however I still want to kill it, if I can, or at least move the project along
right now I would like to remove a section, maybe 7" long of the stalk(s). I forget if I already did so on one section. the corner is the plastic lattice & a plastic connector that helps hold up the lattice & a length of old rotted 2x4 wood post. I would need to be Hercules to pull up just the vine. I could probably demolish the whole lattice & the cut the vines in the process, with tools I have, but I have other little tasks around the house that I'd rather spend time on. for example I need to get a pro painter to paint the whole exterior of the house (not seen in this photo)
this pic is from the viewpoint of our house looking toward the vacant house. I don't know the owners, who are out of state, to negotiate replacing the lattice section with a legit fence. would love to leave it for whoever buys our house
the big green thing in the middle of the photo is a tall tree stump that is helping to hold up the lattice. it's behind that, out of view, that I want to work on. when I go back I'll take a better photo
I think I cut this section w/ loppers, last year, but there is still a growth at the top (see above photo) that must be fed by another stalk, maybe on the other side
occasionally I see a pickup truck in their driveway so I think the owner has someone working on the house. I should talk to them & save myself the effort, but I like to hack at stuff ...
