Hi there, unfortunately on Thursday at around 4.30pm I was knocked of my bike. I was riding on a straight main road and approaching a junction I clocked one car waiting to cross right to left. As I approached she pulled out and I crashed in her side door and flipped over the roof. Landing flat on my back I was unable to move at first. The road was closed and I was strapped up on a spinal board and whisked away. Luckily x rays showed I hadn't broken anything, bruised and a cracked rib, whiplash and a bruised legs. Very painful but I feel pretty lucky! I m now off work (behaviour mentor - primary school) resting up.
Most importantly (!!) my bike is pretty smashed up, tyre can off, front wheel buckled, handle bars bent. Boo! Even worse it was a brand new bike (fuji feather) my cycling jacket is ripped and my helmet cracked.
I need to look into claiming for these things, I have two witnesses and all details of the incident. Does anyone have any experience of companies that are good to go through when claiming and how and when is best to claim? Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks.
