Heat. It was relentless.

The Long Riders had a good one too.

They're all brilliant.

Heat was superb for its technical realism - Andy McNab was advisor to Michael Mann for that one.

Wind River is another favourite, and just when you think its all over Jeremy Renner takes on the baddies with a big game rifle.

And, of course, Predator. What kind of mercenary packs a man-portable Dillon Aero M134 minigun? A larger than life one, naturally.

The ending of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is best for me.

Clearly it's the hospital in Hard Boiled. I would say hospital scene but it's more like an entire act. Here's a compilation of all the Hard Boiled shootouts which is a solid half hour out of a two hour movie. It's all good but skip to about 24mins for epic hospital corridor long take and saving of babies.

Watched Hell or High Water the other night. I wasn't expecting much as it had been hidden away in the middle of the night on Film4, but it was a brilliantly acted film with a great soundtrack.

The best single film scene for me? Has to be Heat.

It’s not the volume of bullets or the size of the guns fired that makes for a good gunfight but the drama and tension that’s built up. Nobody did this better than in the final shootout in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Eight minutes of squinting eyes, darting from threat to threat as the classic Morricone soundtrack builds.
