I'd suggest extending it to cover canals and disused railway routes. The film crew can follow on a canal boat to film or use a recumbent load carrier to film from. A balanced hand held camera wouldn't shake too much.
It would be good, especially if it was done as a historical story telling thing visiting interesting sites and people.
Different types of bikes could be used with a little introduction to the bike but then take it for granted. A bit like that maths type bloke, Adam Hart Davis, who had brightly coloured single fork bike and occasional trailer. He mentioned the bike when it was useful to but didn't make a big thing of it.
