Hi there, I am considering cycling from Rosslare to Limerick and back to Rosslare in the first week of August. I have about 5-6 days. I cant seem to find anything online that suggests there are cycle routes/quieter roads to take other than the major roads. Any suggestions/advice on which route to take, what to expect and any other useful information is much appreciated!!

You can always check the OSI website for upto date maps.

And once away from the cities the major roads tend to be a bit quieter now.

Do you want to spend time in Limerick or tour around Munster - if it is a tour passing through/near Limerick check out the Wild Atlantic Way web site. There is a ferry across the Shannon near Talbert. He
re are some routes on Strava I did for a friend who enjoyed the cycles but the Listowell to Innisshannon was on the 'lumpy side'. The routes are north to south so you would need to reverse them

PS if you use the Tarbert Ferry - the Cliffs of Moher are in cycling range and much nicer than Limerick City.

Click on the map for the route start, and again for the route end. You get turn by turn instructions on the left, and buttons for PDF export (instructions & map), GPX export, and a profile.
You can drag the route about to add distance, or adjust for places you might like to visit.

It does well at picking good routes. The only minor problem is that it thinks all cycle tracks are good, so it has a tendency to blast through the middle of a town rather than bypassing it.

It says 204 km direct, from the Rosslare ferry to Shannon Rowing Club, on minor roads.
p.s.
It also say 80km to the Cliffs of Moher direct from Limerick (via Ennis), and 125 km via the Tarbert/Killimer ferry

I'd avoid Ennis if possible, taking a coastal road if possible.

Reason for avoiding Ennis, the roads are faster on the Western side with a bigger share of idiots on the road.
