Just took delivery of my new cycling glasses today from Optilabs and I'm well pleased.
They are photochromic variofocals, glazed i.e. they have no inserts so I can use them as every day
sunglasses too. They cost £219 which is what I usually have to pay for a decent pair of glasses with good
lenses. Oakely wanted £450 for the same lens specification. Of course I don't have "Oakley" branded on them but I think I can live with that.
Been looking for a while for a decent pair, now I can read my Gps properly and I don't have to carry an extra pair of glasses to read cafe menus!

I looked at Optilabs before deciding on Oakleys and having variofocal photochromatic lenses made up by Ciliary blue.
glasses = £130
lenses = £260

so £390. would i buy Oakley again? yes the fit is fantastic

I've just bought a second pair of sports varifocals from Selectspecs, they have a few sports style glasses and have found the pricing very competitive:

I've gone for these in black with clear lenses, cheap because I'll probably lose or break them!

None of those look cycling specific, are they bigger than regular glasses to keep the wind and debris out of your eyes?
I wear specs, so found this the best thing about the oakley's - no more watery eyes

You're correct they're not cycling specific but sports style. I bought a pair of these wrap around glasses with varifocal lenses and grey graduated lenses:

They don't have the coverage of 'proper' cycling glasses but I find them perfectly adequate at keeping dirt, flies and the wind out of my eyes. I only spent about £80 on them, didn't want to spend a fortune as I have a habit of breaking or losing them!
I've got another pair with clear lenses on order at the moment (as in the link in my post), went for these as they have much larger lenses so hopefully will be better for riding in wintertime.

I did look at Optilabs before buying Oaklets. At that time, their direct glazed frame options were very limited and rather ugly thick plastic things. They may have improved. There was only a few quid difference to the equivalent Oakley lens option too (I got £50 off)

Are they direct glazed prescription lenses? Or insert only? Not clear from website.

Yes optiblabs are good.

However I got Rudy projects - transitions - direct glazed to to -5 from Extreme eyewear £250 - they are absolutely fab.
