Hi all

I don't wear or require glasses for everyday living.

However, having recently started cycling, I've been advised to get a pair of glasses to protect my eyes from bugs etc, as well as the wind and sun.

The advice has been that I shouldn't get a cheap pair without UV protection as it can damage my eyes, but I don't wish to spend a fortune!

Can anyone recommend a decent pair, reasonably priced and/or advice about what I need?

Thanks

Decathlon do some cheap quality clear, yellow and grey polycarbonate ones.

Or Bolle have some rather smart safety glasses.

I generally pay less that £10.

Just checked at they are the B'twin 300 glasses. £6.99, very light and comfortable and give very good protection.

Sorry for hijacking... unlike the OP, I do need to wear glasses so I'm curious if anyone has tried Decathlon's B'Twin 800 Optic which has an insert for prescription lenses? Presumably getting lenses put in them would be straightforward?
I haven't come across this one, but it's usually pretty easy getting them glazed.

You could also try this

Ok, it won't win any prizes for its beauty, but it fits lightly over your own specs, it's sturdy, available in different colours, inexpensive, retails around £20-£30 and it's Polaroid.
They're usually available from smaller independent opticians, a little plug there for my independent collegues:thumbsup:

Pm's exchanged. THose decathlon ones look ace. Glasses direct will re-glaze from £25 for the inserts. £50 total, bargain.

As I explained I have inserts via a Tesco Optician a few years back. I find they easily fit Bolle Safety glasses, so just swap the inserts into clear lense frames, and tinted ones.

Yes, thanks fossyant – just created a new thread as suggested in case anyone else has input on the matter, but I'm off to check out Glasses Direct... £50 all in sounds perfect

Ive just received a set of Oakley Radars from ebay, there very likely fake, but look the real deal with 5 different lenses and a nice case, all for under £20, worth a punt i reckon, someone on another forum had them UV Tested aswell and they came back good.
