I ride an '84 Peugeot PH10 I bought new and I still wear my Detto's and use toe clips and straps. Old habits die hard and besides, clipless just doesn't look right on a vintage bike.

I used to have those alloy plates. As far as I remember I only embarrassed myself once using them. It was a Sunday afternoon and I had ridden out to the pub where our club had arranged tea. It was about 15 miles away and I got there early, so I was riding slowly through this village where the pub was and I spotted, on the forecourt of a closed garage opposite the pub, a milk machine (remember them?). So I thought I'd get a drink. I rode over to the machine and, being a lazy sod, didn't bother to unclip... I placed one hand on top of the machine while I fumbled in my pocket for some change - and promptly fell away from the machine and ended up sprawled out on the forecourt. I looked up just in time to see half a dozen club riders coming round the corner... they didn't let me forget that for a few weeks!
