cycling to the train station to ferry port

has any one cycled to the port of newastle where the ferry goes to amsterdam is it cycle freindly to cycle from the trainstation as im hoping to tour down the river rhine

The good news is that there is a (mainly) off road cycle route to the ferry port, which forms part of the NCN 72 (Hadrians Way /C2C) and is fairly well signposted.

This is an excellent map giving details of the cycle route from the Station to Tynemouth.

Done it not so long ago, and it is quite easy, but it took longer than we had imagined.

I found it easier and much quicker to go by road (I was going ferry to station) - arrived about 30mins before people who followed the path - traffic was not bad fairly direct route avoiding main road through wallsend
