Deload (aka recovery) week for me. I am trying hard to respect these weeks as my inclination is always to do more than I should.

TR gave me the same Endurance Ride 3 days on the trot - James - but yesterday I swapped in an endurance ride with 4 x 20 second full on sprints spread throughout - Bays+1

My indoor (and outdoor to a lesser extent) sprint numbers are rubbish so I really want to work on sprints this off season.

On another topic, my good lady has just got a Zwift Ride bike with the KICKR Core 2 and started using Zwift. She has done her ramp test and a couple of workouts and is loving it so far - so I may be posting her workout progress here too ^_^

I like Bays +1 for outdoors when I have time to kill, it just takes the monotony out of things.

As @Norry1 will know practically every 60mins endurance ride in TrainerRoad is adapting to Pioneer-3 with the current version of their AI. Guess what my workout adapted to the other day 😉
That aside though I felt I was spinning better tonight 🙂

This, today, is by far the best session I had on a stationary bike. I was profusely sweating & was way above my average power for 90% of the ride but, my heart wasn’t racing, was seated for most part (96%) of the ride. I was secretly wishing the session didn't end.

No idea how wattbike calculated it to 1123 calories at the end of the ride when the other two (fulgaz & strava) reported it as 840.

I felt so much better after the ride, nevertheless & that’s all that matters to me.

PS : Don’t mind the username.

A new training block saw the return of VO2 max intervals. Given I hadn’t done VO2max intervals for a while my PL had fallen to 1.3 (TrainerRoad's Difficulty Level) but their new algorithm rather than defaulting initially gave me a 6.4 PL on Sunday but my commute dropped it to 5.1 and Brasted was selected. Which felt about right towards the end and the session seemed to go well, although I was a bit slow at spinning up to power. Intervals.icu reckons I completely burnt my w’ which fell to -0.7 but Strava Sauce reckons it fell to 0 but it still felt like I had something in the tank.

The only disappointing thing according to Garmin it was my first ‘un-productive’ indoor work out for a while; despite my VO2max slightly increasing, I've an anaerobic shortage!
