This may not be the most tactfull reply on this posting but it seems to me that cycling is a bit like hill walking, the god's above take a percentage of us each year. If we do both our chances of being the chosen one get's greater. I have had two near misses in the last month on the bike one involved a creature trying to overtake on a blind bend and the other a Land Rover and trailer coming off the M6 too fast Screeching brakes both times and both too near to be comfortable and now it is near time to head in to the high hills again. No wonder SWMBO is checking out the life policys. Let us hope that if it comes it is fast and painless. and God rest all that go before us

Sometimes I feel like wearing a T-shirt saying "Novis Give me a wide Berth" or "don't mind me in the middle of the road, I'm avoiding Potholes" . Its a tough one isn't it getting driver to Think Twice for bikes both peddle and motor! My heart goes out to his family.

I wish that all drivers involved in crashes had to retake their test, and I wish that all driving tests had an element of "how to avoid cyclists" in them

Vernon, I know from my own experience that 100% of my crashes have been the other party's fault .... the lorry driver probably "didn't see" the cyclist, which is a good enough defence it seems

There's a lot of pre-judgement here.

What's happened to the notion of innocent until proven guilty?

Mrs Keef was at the scene and the tipper had been moved after the collision.
No judgement can be made from the photo.

Our thoughts are with all concerned
