Cyclist dies after crash involving van on A35

A cyclist has died after a crash involving a van on the A35, police have said.

Emergency services were called to Raymonds Hill, Axminster at about 05:30.

The cyclist, a 27-year-old man from Colyton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin has been informed.

Devon and Cornwall Police remain on the scene and the road is expected to stay closed in both directions for several hours.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

I didn't know there was a cyclist involved. As they were diverting traffic through Axminster it must have been further down than Raymond's Hill. Single-carriageway by-pass where traffic tends to go a little too fast.
