A CYCLIST was rushed to hospital after being knocked down by a car in Maryhill.

The 31-year-old was mown down by a BMW 5 series in Maryhill Road at around 7.10pm yesterday.
He was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he is being treated for head injuries.
Hospital staff describe his condition as "stable".

A police probe has now been launched into the incident and witnesses have been urged to come forward.

The man had been cycling in Shakespeare Street prior to being struck by the car, which was being driven by a 38-year-old man.

Sergeant Nicola Taylor, from the Road Policing Unit, is appealing for any witnesses to the crash to contact her on 101.

I hope he recovers quickly.

Knocked down and mown down in two sentences. You can sense where this paper is laying the blame. Even if they dont know any details.

If you ask them they'll tell you they're a lot more friendly than Edinburgh folk:biggrin:.
Glasgow is a bit like Newcastle in that most of the inhabitants are completely mad, go out for a night in either of those places and you will either get beaten up or invited back to a party - go out in Edinburgh and non of the snooty buggers will even speak to you, you just have to sit by yourself in a corner.
There is always the possibility of both!
