The first thing he seems to do is apologise to the other rider so at least he knew he messed up. Beyond that I hope he learnt something from this collision.

Hands up anyone who has never fallen off? His only real mistake was to do it in front of Gaz.
Mines nice and embarrassing, trying to turn left into my University (Over a dropped curb) went in too sharp an angle and hit the deck. Not great when it's just outside your house as well...

It serves him right for wearing those silly shorts, they made him touch the wheel of the guy in blue.

Impressive, too fast for me and add in the bad road surface and slowing traffic, and oops, at least he is not hurt.
Video candidate for the SillyCyclist channel compilation?

Just wondering, did the guy in the white top, with the blue racksack look before he came out?
It just looked to me like that guy came out a little late and a bit too close to the slower cyclists, or is it just the camera angle?

I fell off once when I was a teenager, it hurt quite badly, but I didn't cycle for too long at that point in my life.
In the last year that I have taken up cycling again I have been very lucky not to fall off in that fashion, but at some point I expect my luck will fail, I just hope it is not in front of Gaz and his camera

None of the experts on this forum would have done it, but I had a grace-free dismount last year.

Uphill off a red light, riding fixed. There is a straight-ahead exit, but no-one uses it and no-one ever signals right to stay on the main road, which is a right-turn of about 15 degrees.... But I had a sudden fear that the traffic to my right might go straight on, so I indicated...

While almost stationary and out of the saddle on a 69" fixed-gear up a steepish hill.

Oddly, I fell in a moment of comedy joy for all present. Was that the worst of it?

No... A woman stopped her car and asked if I was OK. Lovely of her, but it made me feel like an OAP. She then waved me down, as in my confusion and shame I'd left my drink bottle in the gutter.

God has no grace and there went I. God, hills and traffic lights are all utter, utter bastards.

I was a path in a park going slightly down hill, joined the grass to dodge a ped and tried to hop back on but misjudged the path height and did a slow mo fat person roll onto my back... Now the Airzoom I got from Matthew T handles peds.

I feel sorry for him, it did look like a nasty rut in the road.

I am interested about the pass of the bus at the start, is it common to pass the buses in the gap of the lane there ?

I would be concerned of a) the bus pulling out without warning b) pedestrians coming out from behind the bus.

Maybe I have just read too many posts on here but I am super cautious of big vehicles now.

The gap is designed to allow cyclists to pass the bus whilst it is stationary and without having to change lanes.
The buses down here are very good, this road carries a serious amount of cyclists ( upto 60 waiting at lights at peak times).
Pretty rare for a pedestrian to step out in front of a bus. First of all passengers get off the bus towards the rear and anyone crossing would be silly to do so in front of a large object that will soon be moving towards them.
