I had a phone call the other day, and the result is that I'm going in for my surgery (cholecystectomy) on Monday morning.
They are hoping to do it via keyhole, and if so, I could be out the same night.
If it requires the open surgery, I'll be in for a week with a longer recovery time.

Your prayers/thoughts would be much appreciated.
I know they'll take good care of me but my long list of drug reactions could make it unpleasant...fingers crossed all goes smooth and I'm back here and back on the bike, before too long!
Good luck Lass. My sister in law and a couple of friends and colleagues have all recently had the keyhole gall bladder op too. They all say you might be sore for a week or two, but you'll soon feel better for it , and you'll enjoy being able to eat a more varied diet (Sis in law had hers about a month ago, and she's coming round for a Chinese tomorrow night).. Hope you are OK with the drugs, and up & posting again soon.
xx Donger.

Good luck with the op. Mrs. GA had hers out some years ago, also keyhole, and it went quite well, considering how sick she was before.

I've only just seen this now. I wish you the very best for your op in a couple of days time. I hope you get something to take home in a jar afterwards: having an errant body-part or even a foreign object in a jar on the mantlepiece is always the best part! You'd best do a couple of good rides this weekend, 'coz you'll be off your bike for a while, I reckon.

I did 15 miles on Monday, 18 yesterday and 15 this morning.
I won't need an aesthetic, I'll be sleeping before they put me under lol
