Only just found this thread - very glad all went well @ScotiaLass, despite the 'challenge' for the surgeon!
Looking forward to going out on the bike with you again, once you've recovered properly :hugs:

Thanks all.
I was in Larbert @Garry A. My room overlooked the main outpatients entrance, alas no Starbucks for me. I have to go back tomorrow to have the drain removed...not looking forward to that, it's bloody painful!
I had a rough night and ended up sleeping on the recliner, taking painkillers and watching cr*p tv, in-between napping.
Arabella's new front basket arrived in my absence, I can't wait to get back out but I don't think it will be as fast as I thought!

Onwards and upwards though!

Had one of these drains in when I got my appendix out in 95 (non keyhole). Hated it but was fascinating seeing it come out, like a bayonet being removed xx(
Cant beat a new bike accessory to give you motivation to get back on the saddle:thumbsup:

Drain now out. It was a bit better than I remember as it was a shorter tube - it still hurt though!
I have a nice hole where the drain was (no, I'm not posting a picture!) and its currently dressed, as still leaking a bit.
No cycling for me for 2 weeks, then I can see how I feel and take it easy - with the warning to stay away from anywhere that I may fall off the bike.....spoil my fun Mr Surgeon, why don't you!

Managed to eat half a yoghurt today - my first food since last Sunday. Who knew a peach activia yoghurt could taste so good!

The advice I was given was not to drive for a couple of weeks after I had my gallbladder out due to stitches/staples - so I used my motorbike instead!

Take it easy
