I had mine done a few years ago pre keyhole option. If you ask nicely they let you keep the stone... DSC_0008.JPG

I've only just seen this thread, good luck SL.

I've got a good joke about a surgeon and something similar to keyhole surgery, I'll save it for later though.

It's what you get for a lousy (fry everything) diet at a young age. Most people seem to get loads of smaller gravel like stones!

Good luck SL - I hope this hasn't put you off!

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Hi everyone. I have just had a message from SL. She had the surgery as planned on Monday. However, the operation was more difficult than the surgeon thought it was going to be because her gallbladder was so enlarged, but they managed to do the keyhole surgery, so that's good news.

SL is back home now, but she is very tired. She has a drain in at the moment, but that should come out on Thursday.

Thanks again all. Just wanted to pop on here and say that.
Surgeon walked in after the op and said 'THAT was a gallbladder!' Apparently it was very inflamed but he did a brilliant job keeping the surgery to the keyhole.
I had the usual reactions to the drugs but I'm ok, very sore and very tired.
As WD said, back on Thursday to have the wound drain removed.
Looking forward to me own bed (or recliner chair) tonight!
I'll pop back in when I feel better!

Glad it's over. I can remember vividly the feeling after an anaesthetic and op so you will definitely be tired. Hope you get a decent sleep tonight and feel much better in the morning.

You should keep that in a nest.

Congratulations on giving the surgeon a proper challenge, and congratulations to the surgeon for meeting it. It's great to get out of hospital, isn't it?
