From what I've read else where its partially done as a way of bumping up readership numbers - but I suspect those are his actual views. As a result I don't tend to go looking at the site unless I'm after a particular bit of information in the first place.

Is this your own personal city downfader....

Nah I'm from Southampton, but I take an interest in the "cycling cities" as I think they may become a template for other cities. If one of them gets it right it could be good news for all of us.

Plus the Bristol Traffic blog makes me laugh

If you are interested in the Cycle City stuff - then there was a piece on last nights Inside Out West: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00q2nq7/Inside_Out_West_18_01_2010/ about 20 mins in if I remember correctly. And then again this morning on the radio http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p005yxfz/Graham_Torrington_19_01_2010/ (the first hour, basically a phone in so comments from both sides).

Probably one of the most relevant comments is that it needs to be spread over 10 or more years. Trying to get going seemed to take a long time - hopefully Bristol won't stop funding some of the changes once the funding from Cycling England runs out next year.

As for Bristol Traffic - I'm a regular reader myself - even noticed that you have commented on some in the past.
