How very odd. What a nobber.
He hit a stationary vehicle which makes me wonder if he was drunk.
But seemed very calm about the whole thing.

I think there may be a bit more to this than meets the eye. Comments on the video suggest the driver posts videos of himself driving aggressive and bullying other road users.
And not excusing the collision, but he does seem to deliberately and unnecesserrily pull into the cycle lane there,

Why leave the bike, there was no evidence (other than the cabby shouting) that he'd scratched the cab. I'd have said that I was in the cycle lane and the guy ran into me, the police would have just walked away as no-one was injured.

I think he probably pulled across as he was blocking the road.
Maybe the chap had nicked the bike,

And the helmet ?
Why not? If I was looking to nick bikes on a regular basis in order to get from A to B I may well carry a helmet, I'd probably look far more legitimate then. Kinda like your own personal Boris Bike scheme but you don't have to pay for it.

Yeah, hadn't thought of that, no lights either but that's not unusual in citys.

Bike thieves in London do wear helmets.

Maybe, It would be interesting to know the back story. Not that there's any excuse for hit and run, but I'd like to know all the same.

IMO he should have exchanged details, but it does look very much as though the taxi driver was deliberately blocking him.
I'd have waited behind, but I'm struggling to summon up much sympathy for the driver if they were deliberately preventing the cyclist from getting through.

Prompted by your comment, i had a look at his channel ( TaxiWarrior - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5Jtm0Sazf_Hm3dAQZgG7gw ) I have to say that what i saw is in complete contrast to your suggestion, he seems careful and considerate in all clips I viewed - no agression and no bullying.

He has posted the build up video to the one in the OP:

I admit, I haven't looked myself, was just quoting from one of the comments on the posted video.
