Rip that's to close for my liking to my rides, but that road is very fast, and busy at that time

That road is right next to where i live. Very fast road. Main route into city centre. I've never cycled along it myself.

I can't imagine he'd just cycled all the way from Wimbourne though.
Maybe he works in Southampton and was cycling to the train station to get home, as it's only about a couple of minutes away from where he was killed. Poor guy. That road is 3 lanes of heavy fast moving traffic that time of day.

Have seen a few comments on both Echo's facebook pages from those that know him suggesting how nice a bloke he was and that he's left a family behind.
