If i shouted "YOU'RE A F***ING PR*CK" in someone's face, I wouldn't expect no consequence. I'd either be faced with someone showing more aggression back, or someone cowering under my aggressive behaviour, fearful that my aggression may escalate further...
which is why i wouldn't shout "YOU'RE A F***ING PR*CK" in someone's face.

Either anyone can decide when violence is ok or only the courts can. You've clearly stated your preference for the former, if somebody decided to pass that judgement on you, you wouldn't like it so much.

You think the cyclist "asked" for it. If you randomly decide what actions deserve punches to the head then I've decided I can punch you in the head. Deal?

Why did he bother to have a go at the car in the first place? It is unlawful to encroach the asl but, look what he got.
It does make you wonder whether or not to mind your own business in those situations.
All the poor sod got for his trouble was a punch in the face. Could happen any time!

I'd have figured that the driver (I noticed people often say "car," like it just did it itself) was going to accelerate quickly and closely to me putting me in danger (most likely from a knock in the elbow from a wing mirror), once the lights change.

So you have 2 choices get out of there, or try and challenge it, he started off by being calm when he challenged but then the car driver started the aggression and that's how it escalated, I guess some cyclists just get tired of always standing down but that's how you end up in these situations it stems from lack of enforcement of stuff like ASL encroaching.

Option Four:

Who was in the wrong here ?

You, for starting the third thread on the story and rampant apostrophe abuse.

I'm happy to see the threads merged...the DM link one is fairly vague....anyway...that wasn't you telling me how nice it is to cycle on London roads a few days ago was it ? :rolleyes:

The road rage episodes just add to the rich tapestry, one time in Limehouse i saw two cars alongside each other and the drivers yelling so i sped up to have an earwig;

"No, YOU grow up!"

one driver said;

"No! YOU grow up!!" said the other, ha ha!

You're dead right! There is almost no enforcement of that. Only when the police have a weekend blitz every now and again.

TBF thats the sort of arrishole that would get out and chin anybody.

I think that the lesson in this one is to get off the bike before threatening them if you really do want to do more than vent some spleen.

My mate got his nose broken by a Punk back in the early 80's. Sat on his bike and giving my ex a buggy, the punk confronted him outside a pub after they thought he was taking the pee out of the group. My mate was so busy holding the bike up, he couldn't dodge at all when the guy swung at him.
