Dawes Galaxy

Hi all,
Could anyone help me please i have recently bought a vintage dawes galaxy for £20 and its in fairly good nick, i would like to know if it's 531 and how old it may be? The rear wheel is non original but i was told the rest of the parts are, I've posted some pic's that may help

@Kevinski66 if its a Galaxy then it will be 531 main frame and fork blades and my guess would be mid 70's

early 600 groupset as well , which i think looks great

I'm not sure the rear mudguard is original either Looks a bargain at £20, happy riding

That is a steal at £20, I just bought an arabesque derailleur that cost me a tenner!! Very nice indeed, I like the lugs

I am currently researching Dawes Galaxy's for a build for a friend and from what i have found out that head badge and colour would put yours as early 70's I have not seen any that came with Arabesque as standard though

Thought arabesque was later, more like early 80s. I would guess the bike is older but the parts are newer. Headbadge might be a better guide as it looks like the older type. As for Galaxy I thought in the 70s the only did the brown or green. Google Dawes bike catalogs and you might see it in one of the catalogs

If it's 531 the seat post should be 27 or 27.2mm. Does it say Galaxy on it anywhere?

It's not impossible that it's a respray job and rebuild in the 80's. For 20 notes it's a bargain.
What size wheels, 27 X 1 1/4?
