I am thinking of getting the Dawes Horizon Plus, which would be better for touring I know they are both touring bikes but unsure which to use I think for my first tour would be be in Jersey or mainland UK and also unsure to go camping or b&b/youth hostel or do a bit of both.
The weight of the Horizon Plus is 13.3 kg or the Karakum weighing 14.6 kg.
Which would you go for ?

I'm puzzled: looking at another question you've asked you already have the Karakarum. I'm not sure why you're looking to buy another touring bike - especially as it seems so similar to the one you already have.

I'd stick with the Karakarum for a while - once you have some more miles under your belt you'll be better able to decide whether to keep it and if not, what to look for in a replacement.

I have the Dawes Karakum meself, lovely bike, good spec and lugs the camping gear no problem. Seeing it's your first time camping on tour, could be a good idea to have a hostel or bb now and again. However, I prefer 100% camping to hostelling nowadays. mainly because the hostels have changed big time, probably because I'm a old fa*t:tongue:.
