Hello Everyone.So I started to disassemble my 20$ project.starting with the wheels front and rear hubs are Bayliss-Wiley front wheel could be a 26x 11/4? See photo rear is 26x13/8.So I’m trying gather information about this bike using parts that are on it.bike seems to be in that grey area Of missing information.

Hi Tony, try the Vintage forum here - they may be able to give some information based on the crankset design. Different manufacturers had a different ‘pattern’ on the chainring - bird for Raleigh, ‘H’ for Hercules, a hand for Rudge and so on. I should be able to ID the crown motif, but the brain won’t work :-(

It looks like different sized wheels front & rear, which means different tyres. It wasn't uncommon as the 26 x 1 1/4 is the road version.

26" non-MTB wheels & tyres need close attention as there are English & USA variants which are slightly different and this affects tyre compatibility. If you have a known English 26" x 1/3/8" wheel then fit a new 26" x 1 3/8" tyre to that, then try the same tyre on the other wheel to see if it is compatible or not.

Yep there are about 5 different 26" wheel sizes
