I have become fascinated by this bob dylan song, and have been unable to stop singing it whilst cycling recently.

It's an amazing song, maybe with religious overtones, and you can't tell whether it's about someone else dying, yourself dying... or even suicide.

For me it's just the pinnacle of the art of the accomplished songwriter. The one who can pick at your outer consciousness like a crow.

That it is and so is life..

Was this not for one of his friends?

dunno. I just love the craft and ambiguity.

The way it ends up talking about 'burning flesh' like a war, and finding 'law abiding citizens'... like a moral code.

All most the same as Pink Floyds dogs of war

sorry spandex. I listened to the first 1 second of that and envisaged an eternal vomit that upset NASAs space exploration program.

I don't do pink floyd without syd barrett. Sorry.

Death is very much the end, as far as I can tell.

I've been playing guitar and singing for as long as you have, but I love a songwriter who can tackle death. That song for me is ironic because it is just so lazily beautiful and clever.

Maybe too clever.

Rather wishful thinking to dream up a whole world beyond this one with not a shred of evidence to back it up.
If you go around thinking this life is just the dress rehersal you waste it.
Treat this live as all you will get and you may get a pleasant surprise at the end.
