Are they any good for long rides? Is the chamois good?
Depends on what you mean by long ride. @nickyboy is team b'twin, he may be able to weigh in on the subject.

I have both the 900 cycling Shorts and the 900 Bib shorts with the thin blue pad, I prefer the cycling shorts.
The pad is good, but there are better fit Bib shorts for me.

The pad.

I prefer these 900 shorts to the 900 Bib.

Update- I bought the 900 bib tights and did 35 miles in some challenging weather in them on Sunday, so far I am impressed, they seem comfier than my enduras over the same distance!

Hows the lycra compared to the 500s ?
Took them back as they bobbled on the inner thigh after only a few rides. exchanged and the next pair did the same and found the pad bunched up at the crotch.
Checked the bike and the point of bobbling was not catching on anything , it seemed to me the lycra was very thin and the bobbling turned into a hole , probably worn 2-3 times .

I've been wearing the 900 shorts (I assume the bib shorts are the same material) for over a year. No bobbling at all

I will have to check them out next time i go in, my old ones with the red pad lasted a fair while but the new ones were a bit rubbish , same goes for the MTB shoes. My old rockrider 5 are the most comfy i ahve had and fit a normal uk size , had to go a eu size up for the new pair and still sent them back as the to box was a lot tighter.
