Dedicating one lane to cycling

That's just aroubd the corner from where I work. Loads of cyclists around here.

Incidentally they're ibstalling 30 boris bikes by removing 2 pay n display spaces outside office. The residents upstairs are beside thrmsrlves with fury. No residents parking going. The one disabled spot remaining. 3 ncp car parks and plenty of other pay spots within 50m. Yet the anger and opposition is pathetic.

I'm really happy as it 15 times as many potential customers seeing my business.

I've only just seen this thread but I have to say I really like that LA cycle lane. One thing I see on my commute is people on BSOs riding in the gutter on narrow roads with speed limits from 30mph - 60mph. It's one thing for the bikeability or the police or whoever to say cyclists should be X metres into the lane and should take the lane if it makes them safer but doing that doesn't stop motorists passing very close, and passing even closer if you're out of the gutter, or getting really annoyed because you're too far out. And just try taking the lane on a narrow 60mph road during rush hour!

Having a lane in the middle of a lane that's clearly marked could help no end. This lane says cyclists should be here, motorists deal with it.

Yeah, but most councils insist that you can't use P+R for that. You must get the bus. But the buses back from Norwich to its sites stop at 7 or 8. I could get back if I had a bike. But you're not allowed folded bikes on most buses around here. So I'd have to get one out of the dock at the bus station and drive back in with it afterwards. To heck with that! Then the kicker is that they've just stopped running buses from the western P+R to the city! So I still drive into the city centre car parks

Rather sensibly, Cambridge now sells "Park Only" and "Ride Only" tickets at its P+R sites. Why don't all cities? That said, I'm usually visiting the centre or south of Cambridge, so the train works better than the A10 across the fens...
Huh? Do you mean large folded bikes or brompton as well?

Any. I've been given some contact numbers and checking the current situation on Connect and Coastal Red aka Lynx and Stagecoach Norfolk Green (reportedly banned) is on my far too long to do list. First Eastern Counties do take folding bikes again now.
