Went to the boot of the car took off my cycling pack put the bike in the back and drove home. Where's my pack?

Rushed back but it was gone. Asked around but just got shrugs.
Lost...

Wallet
Edge1000
Equinox and Blaze lights
Gore Oxygen jacket
Adidas cycling sun glasses
£40 pump with inner tube.
An apple and half eaten sandwich.

Completely my fault but sometimes life is just ship

Believe in Karma. Somebody will have picked it up and found your details in the wallet and even now will be trying to contact you. The Police won't accept lost property unless you make a big effort so it might take a day or two for them to find you, possibly through your bank. Don't forget to cancel those cards though. Your household insurance will cover you for the other stuff but not the sandwich.

or not. I had insurance that didn't cover things out of the house.

Yeah, I know. I just assumed it did. I added up the £600 worth of goods that were stolen before I called my insurer and they told me.

But this is very true. Of course it was picked up by someone. You just have to wait to find out if that someone is a good person or not.

That's a real sickner, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you but I won't be holding my breath.

Yikes - commiserations!

I'm sure some one will do the honourable thing, it may just take awhile.
Don't count on it ...
This summer, I bought a used office chair from a junk shop round the corner from here. I pushed it back here with a carrier bag of shopping resting on the seat. When I got here, I realised that the bag had gone, fallen off the chair without me noticing it. I dashed back down the road, round the corner and spotted the bag in the middle of the pavement. With great relief I retrieved it only to find that in the couple of minutes that it had been lying there, some toerag had discovered my wallet in the bag and had stolen it. They clearly were not that keen on their '5-a-day' though because the fruit and veg in the bag had been ignored!

I've done exactly the same thing only it was my end of the week well used sweaty cycling gear that I abandoned. There was a pub and a leisure centre adjacent to the car park. I got it back due to some kind soul handing it into the leisure centre.

Even if you get it back pronto you should seriously consider cancelling your cards if you haven't done so already

I had my cards stolen for just a few minutes recently (my phone wallet with cards was stolen and then chucked nearby). I had already cancelled my cards when it was returned but the police said they should always be cancelled if they are out of your possession but returned to you. Apparently bad sorts will photograph your cards and then use the details to buy stuff online
