How much does it cost to Oldham?
A number of years ago, a colleague of mine placed £13,000 worth of electonics on top of his car whilst he put himself inside said car. He then proceeded to go forward, knocking the PCB onto the floor and then, to finish the job properly, reversed over it. This is one of a good number of incidents that cost the company we worked for a good few quid.

The colleague in question is now a member of parliament.

Yikes - commiserations!

Don't count on it ...
I'm just going by my positive experiences recently.
People talk about him a lot at church. Nobody has actually seen him in a while tho so:sad:

That person showed up awhile back at a Kawasaki track day at Silverstone when my Mrs lost her purse. She didn't realise till we was home. It was handed in to security at the circuit, from who we picked it up from about 8hrs later all intact.
I feel your pain.

I lost a rucksack on a ride two years ago. It cost me hundreds to replace it with tools, new spectacles, electronic car keys, mobile phone.

My stupid fault after stopping (I hope not too patronisingly) to help a young mum with a toddler in a child seat, whose chain had come off ( the mum not the toddler).

I watched them ride off then got on my bike, sans rucksack, and continued my ride.

Never got any of it back - sod karma.
cripes - also proves there is no god of course.

Do report back ride2017 - I'd love to hear that some honest soul returns it to you. They do exist.

How sh*t that is.
I always but always ensure that anything I find gets back to the owner if possible........and many other people are the same. But sadly, as others have said "I wont hold my breath on this one".

Bummer and I am really hoping that you get your gear back. Most people are decent.

Well, after 24hrs I've heard nothing despite there being enough info in the bag for any honest person to contact me. Went back to see if there were any "bag found" posters but nothing.

Gone from being to depressed to peed off. How do people take things that they know don't belong to them?
Time to move on.

Flipping 'eck matey, that's an arseache . I feel sorry for you . Draw a line under it and concentrate on what you need to do and not what you should have done.

I found a purse in the middle of the road once, checked for a phone number and rang it. They came and picked it up from me very relieved. Thing was, looking through it (for the phone number or ID) was like looking through someone's life it didn't sit right with me at all. But obviously for others they couldn't give a toss.

I did something similar a few years ago upon finding a really nice smart phone on my way to work one morning. I waited until someone rang which turned out to be the owner who asked somewhat sheepishly if he would be getting it back. I said of course it's yours not mine and told him where to come and collect it. He was very grateful.
A mate of mine was dropping his wife at Berwick railway station and for some bizarre reason when she got out of the car she put her handbag on the roof of the car whilst she got her other bag out of the boot, For what evr reason the bag being plonked on the roof was taken as a signal for him to go. He drove off with her handbag on the roof and her other bag still in the boot, the handbag was never seen again and his wife was left abandoned for many many hours in berwick with no money, no train tickets, no phone, no anything - he was in big trouble for a very long time.
