Apologies for the dumb question but just picked up my new bike with di2 and reading through the manual.

It states, "don't remove the rear wheel without turning the lever switch off"

Can anyone confirm this is only for mtb versions as I can't see a lever switch on the road version

TIA

Don't know anything about Di2, but i would of thought they was referring to the right gear lever just in case you catch it or something?

I run Di2 and I have never heard of such a precaution.
Once the wheel is out just don't try and change gears. Common sense.

With or without a wheel in the system doesn't do anything unless you press a button to operate in.

Nope, new one on me and both my Road and TT bikes are Di2. Changing gear without the (I assume) rear wheel doesn't cause any problems either. Just keep your fingers out of the way, especially the front deraillieur which can trap your fingers against the chain rings. Ouchio!
