That, my memory jogged, possibly falsely by @Pat "5mph" 's thread about her baby spending the night alone, there was once a thread on CycleChat that debated what could be considered the moment of birth of a bike and that there was someone who desperately needed to know that information so that she could do a Tarot card reading or cast a horoscope for her bike. I think that she was French and possibly mad.

I might be possibly mad and imagined the whole thing. I must check the provenance of the mushrooms that I've just eaten.

I`ve just rejigged my Basso with 11 speed DA and Ultegra bits and some new Hope / Open Pro wheels.

The bike was rebirthed yesterday evening as I just went up and down the street (not even around the block!)
checking how it ran.I think it was the moment some power (not much) went through the cranks

Funny you should mention it; my buddy received his crash replacement bike courtesy of his insurers on Tuesday. In reply to my text he wrote: "Delivered safely this afternoon weighing a healthy 7 kilos. Assembly and circumcision of steerer required."

So I went round on Thursday evening with the marvellous Park Tools cutting guide and a hacksaw and perfomed the ritual, and although I didn't know a rabbinic ceremonial song I did hear some Leonard Cohen playing on his iPod.
