I bought a wheel truing stand the other year and needed a base to sit it on as I found it hard to use it when mounted on a table. So I decided to build my own stand from old pallet wood from work.

Took me 5hrs to make on Saturday from scratch to varnish, assembled the truing stand today and tweeked the stand with a few homemade add ons.I bent the chrome bars in a pipe bender for better angle for the pointers.

I added a dial guage to the stand just for anorakish reasons more than anything else as I built the wheel in the stand without it. I bought the guage 25yrs ago to get the timing right on 2 stroke bikes I owned back then. So I think I have put it to good use.

I can now sit on my swivel chair and true my wheels in comfort ! I am quite pleased with the outcome.

Very creative.
When you're not using it you can lend it out for use in a Sleeping Beauty panto (looks just like a spinning wheel )
Seriously though it looks great
