Sounds like a good deal actually !
I can see your thinking...... but I just think that classing a wheel as a consumable item on an £800 bike is a bit cheeky

The wheels are usually crap on an £800 bike though, hence why they don't last a winter of wet weather (that's my expert opinion, and why I don't have any cheapo wheels).

At least the LBS is willing to give it a go with Giant, but the wheels are still crap !

They would be willing yes if I'm okay with a less than 50/50 gamble on £15... but I've decided that its probably not worth the hassle.... so hopefully he can get a shimano hub needing same spoke length so he will meet half way on cost (no profit on part and no charge for labour) so fingers crossed

Situation sorted!!!!^_^ (In theory... not physically)
They cannot put a shimano hub in.... wrong spoke count.....but Giant have said whilst definitely not warrantied they will supply a hub assembly (which they don't normally do) at cost (£20) which LBS will fit F.O.C but unfortunately the supply will take 6 weeks  but he will try and reduce the noise for the time being..... and then medium term I need to consider upgrading wheels before it happens again......
I think that is an acceptable outcome:thumbsup: I'm happy again

LBS has just been across to me.... he's in the middle of stripping it down to quiet it until part comes, conversation went something like this......
LBS: How do you clean the bike.......
Me: Errrrr.........:shy:
LBS: You use a jet washer don't you......
Me::shy:....... might do....... occasionally..... only once or twice though honest (and it is only this much)
LBS: DON'T...........
Me::shy: errr.... okay sorry.....

So looks like I may have caused contributed to the problem.......
In my defence I did try to keep it away from the hubs........Perhaps I will keep the jet washer for the car and block paving in future.....

But he's sorting it today for me and then fitting part when it comes...... told you he was a good LBS:thumbsup:

Yep to both of the above posts.....

He managed to get past where he should have been able to service to and re-greased it all and it is quiet again....

He said he will leave the part on order and fit it if I need it but he thinks I should be okay now and he will keep it in his spares box in case ..... but mid/short term I will think about Fulcrum 7's......(If Double 7 wins this afternoon they will be fitted by 6.00 tonight....)
