Beautiful.

Chain is a bit slack though.

Beautiful if you want to hang it on a wall and admire it.

Ridiculous if you want to actually ride it without fear of getting splinters in your @rse.

No more likely than riding a carbon fibre bike and getting carbon splinters in your arse, unless it's poorly made. This crowd seem to have a good reputation in wood:-

I wouldnt be so quick to condemn it. I should think it would be extremely aerodynamic . The guy must be very confident of his workmanship to ride it.

And it really is a work of art.

I agree it looks lovely, I'm not sure of the material though, I'm not sure I would want to trust it on a fast bumpy descent.

I like it.

The seat support and chain stays look like ash to me and so would have ample strength. It looks like it must be properly jointed too for him to have ridden it sucessfully for a couple hundred miles. Can't see what the 'aeroplane wing' down tube is made of though but the marquetry is a nice touch.
My only criticism, apart from the naff wheel rims, is the quality of the surface finish. Looks a bit rough and could do wirh a proper rubbing down and polishing.

I am tempted to make my trike in wood now. It would be a good way to show off my cabinet making skills.

That wooden last tree minutes on Norwich roads.

Maybe the maker should branch out into BSO sculpture; i'm sure his work would be very poplar.

Whats the second brake lever attached to? I can't cedar point of it.

Forget the tyres, and the silly "police constable rims"; he's bought them in, and he just doesn't have very good taste.

But the bit he built himself? The bike? Just beautiful.

A piece of sculpture on wheels ........ like the Mosquito, built by piano makers, was the fastest aircraft in the world for its time piece of wooden sculpture that flew.
