Disappointed by another cyclist during my ride yesterday morning

When I see a person on a bike who has chosen to disguise and conceal their normal appearance by wearing a helmet, goggles and weird "cycle specific" clothing, I just assume they are on some dodgy business and don't want it to be known that they are in that location at that time. I expect they are mightily relieved when I don't give them a greeting in the passing as that could mean their cover had been blown:smile:.

I don't meet many other cyclists on my commute. The odd one passes me, I don't mind being overtaken because everyone is faster than me, and I like to pace myself. Some of them say hello, I've given up initiating it myself cos the people I choose to greet always blank me

I always say hello and nod at oncoming cyclists

I'm easy say hello don't say hello I'm too busy having a laugh and enjoying myself to give a monkies if they don't reply , but I mainly see walkers cos where I ride is far too dirty for the roadies mud and Lycra not a nice combo

You always get one! I've given a quick nod to peeps I'm meet on the commute , sometimes you get one back. Other times it's as though they are looking down their nose at you, or just completely ignore me.

Does that not make you unbalanced?
A little. I'm working on a new cycling top, with pockets front and rear, to even things up. Until then it's a matter of loading the pocket nearer the centre of the road, so the camber can contribute to stability. A bit like riding a trike.

You might be over thinking this one.
You're right. With the benefit of half a bottle of Rioja, the obvious solution is to start with pennies in each of the outer pockets of a standard three pocket jersey. On the first "pay ianrauk occasion", I transfer a penny from the left pocket to the centre, on the next, from right to centre and so on.

Next week I'll solve who shaves all those paradoxical barbers.

I said hello to some cyclists today and didn't say hello to others and loads didn't say hello to me. I am now wallowing in self pity that us cyclists can be so shallow with each other. Think next time I will stop the next one I see, offer him a hello and a handshake and ask how his cycling day is going.
