My wife got a new Specialized Ruby disc brake bike in November that has a 142mm thru axle. I purchased a QR adapter but we soon found that the Ruby was too wide for our Elite Crono Elastrogel fluid trainer.

We have a Kickr Core but its too much of a faff (apparently) and too heavy as she take the turbo down to the local club on a weekly basis for a training session.

Does anyone know of a cheap ish turbo trainer that will opn wide enough to fit the rear stays of the specialized ruby on? The male version of the Ruby is the roubaix, so i presume they will be roughly the same

Thanks

I had a problem with the Roubaix, I bought a QR and had to take the plastic cups off the part that holds the bike , its still steady but not as pretty.

Hrm - I have an elite crono fluid It’s literally millimetres too wide

Wonder if I can force the trainer a bit wider
I shall investigate
