Disc brakes on road bikes

My new Canyon Endurace has mudguard fixing points although I have no intention of riding it in the rain or fixing mudguards to it but the option is there should you want it.
More endurance style bikes these days are available with this.

My Kaffenback commuter had mounting points for mudguards and I had proper ones fitted. I did put it on a turbo trainer and couldn't be bothered to take them off for which I had the mickey gently taken.

Indeed - I was presented with yellow vest and helmet to wear - and did rather see the irony. The ringleader wore a tailcoat and top
hat. Hi viz did seem rather redundant

I didn't realise it was you - great picture! 👍

Another point is favor of disc brakes is the fact that a small medium sized padlock can be put thru the holes in a brake disc, when you run into a store. It prevents some teen for snatch and grabbing your bike.

Which you've already said on this thread. Post 387.
Back to disc brakes. One small factor to consider is that you can lock up a disc brake bike easily, and prevent someone riding off with it, by putting a padlock through a hole in the disc. Just one easy to carry padlock. A little peace of mind when running in a quick shop.
