Will see how this one goes first, if the numbers are encouraging then I don't see why not unless it's like last winter. I want to do a Sunday ride in any case to give others a chance that can't do a Saturday.

i aim to turn up, but will have a foster child in toe, he has managed a 63 mile ride befor, but our intention is to see if he can hang on, if not no worrys we will just peel off and do our own thing

I've used my MTB shod with slicks last week on my 20+ miles local mixed terain circuit. Compared with my road bike I just ended up spinning a bit more because of the lower gearing and it was maybe a little slower overall. I don't think it would be a big problem over 45 miles if fitted with road slicks. Especially if it was as easy a run as you descibe.

Often ride through Clipsham, in fact the ride will be passing not far from there. As regards maybe bringing some friends, I would prefer this ride to be for Cycle Chat members if possible. I know a whole bunch of cyclists who would happily come along but they are not CC members so I don't ask them to forum rides. I think we should keep it that way at the risk of offending anyone, which is not my intention. Hope you understand.

New faces, especially in these parts is exactly what we need. Who knows, this ride might finally put paid the belief that myself Colin and Dave had that there were no forum riders in this part of the world.

Yeah thats not a problem, i have told them to join up as they are all based locally, but will leave it for this week.

and i have to agree with you, rutland seems to be undiscovered area for biking i think, unless you live here no one really knows what it is like in this area. espcially out passed wing, lyndon over to wakerley. all lovely rides.
